Innova obtains International BREEAM Certification for Sustainable Construction
Innova Group has recently obtained the BREEAM® (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) certification, the world’s most prestigious international seal for sustainable building. This recognition certifies that Innova’s new facilities, inaugurated in May 2025, meet strict standards of energy efficiency, responsible resource management, and employee well-being.
With this achievement, Innova reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and environmental responsibility, fundamental pillars of its corporate philosophy.
What is the BREEAM© Certification?
BREEAM is a globally recognized method for assessing and certifying sustainability in building construction. It evaluates multiple aspects of a building’s design, construction, and management worldwide, including:
- Energy efficiency and responsible resource consumption
- Water and waste management
- Use of sustainable and locally sourced materials
- Indoor environmental quality (light, ventilation, comfort)
- Sustainable mobility and accessibility
- Innovation and reduction of overall environmental impact
In Spain, the certification is applied through the BREEAM ES New Construction standard, which evaluates the environmental performance of buildings from the design stage through completion, as in the case of the certification achieved by Innova Group.
Innova Certified with a “Very Good” Project Rating
The project for Innova’s new facilities achieved a “Very Good” rating in the BREEAM ES New Construction category, a level that demonstrates excellence in sustainable design, facility efficiency, and the company’s commitment to providing a healthy work environment. Throughout the certification process, Innova collaborated with the specialized consultancy Green Building Factory, an accredited BREEAM advisory firm, which guided all project phases — from planning and material selection to the final validation of the building.
The new Innova Group facilities, inaugurated in 2025, cover more than 11,000 m², encompassing the production plant, office spaces, and R&D areas. From their initial design, these facilities were conceived with a focus on sustainability and efficiency, incorporating over 400 m² of solar panels for self-consumption, significantly reducing energy usage and associated emissions.
Additionally, the site includes 1,500 m² of parking equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle parking areas, and a garden with native plant species, promoting sustainable mobility and respect for the natural environment.
The 1,500 m² office area features smart energy management systems that optimize climate control, lighting, and resource use. It also includes spaces dedicated to technical training and multidisciplinary meetings, fostering an efficient and comfortable work environment aligned with Innova Group’s values of sustainability, innovation, and talent development.

Obtaining the BREEAM seal is part of Innova Group’s global sustainability strategy, which includes optimizing resource use in its industrial processes, developing more efficient packaging solutions, and reducing the carbon footprint across its entire value chain.
These new facilities represent not only an architectural and technological milestone but also a model of environmental commitment that strengthens Innova’s vision of a more responsible and sustainable future.
