Porcelanosa Automates and Controls Pallet Entry into Its Smart Warehouse with Innova

Porcelanosa has recently completed a new logistics line installation developed by Innova Group comprised of pallet conveying, verification and sorting line. The new line is designed to centralize and control several material flows from Porcelanosa’s different production plants, and also to verify and supply empty pallets to its Logistics Center.

This new logistics project is another step forward in the long-standing collaboration between the Porcelanosa and Innova Group, including different end-of-line packaging and automation solutions installed at several Porcelanosa plants. With this new end-of-line installation, Innova has addressed a new logistics challenge with a dedicated pallet flow consolidation and control line installed at Porcelanosa’s main Logistics Center in Vila-real, Spain.

Pallet verification and flow consolidation line

The installation features two production material infeed lines for final load verifications where both the product and its pallet are dimensionally checked. It also features another infeed line with a dedicated empty pallet inspection, comprised of a pallet de-stacker and stacker system, to ensure individual pallet quality before entering the automated warehouse.

Results: More Controlled and Smarter Logistics

The result is a solution that centralizes all the material flows from Porcelanosa’s different production plants and controls every pallet before it enters their smart Logistics Center.

More than a conveying line, the project integrates different verification, sorting and handling processes into a single, innovative automated line fully adapted to the specific requirements of Porcelanosa’s logistics center.

According to Innova Group: “This project is a good example of our ability to develop automation solutions that go beyond packaging. After many years of working with Porcelanosa, we have a deep understanding of its processes, and this time we have applied our expertise in conveying and automation to address a very specific logistics challenge: consolidating different flows and ensuring that every pallet reaches the smart warehouse in the right condition.”
