1. Pamesa Group, a Pioneer in Stretch Hood to Protect its Loads

Pamesa Group heads our selection of ceramic lines, as it was the first ceramic group to choose Stretch Hood technology with Innova, back in 2012. During production growth, Pamesa decided to progressively integrate Stretch Hood into all its end-of-line processes, together with wrapping and strapping systems. Currently, all the factories of the Pamesa Group have Innova lines, as well as Pamesa Do Brasil, where in 2018 Innova installed its first Brazilian line.

From the Pamesa Group, we highlight the installations of Compacglass 3 and 4, in 2017, with one and two packaging lines respectively, and remarkable packaging productions.

Challenge: Pamesa wanted to automate and unify packaging in all its plants, with a special connection between several factories.

Solution: Innova installed packaging lines with Stretch Hood systems to guarantee total protection, combined with high-performance strapping and stretch wrapping systems and a conveyor line connection with a pallet elevator to transport loads to a different collection plant.

Results: Grupo Pamesa achieved more efficient, safe, and sustainable packaging, increasing its production and reducing operating costs.

2. Porcelanosa Group, Symbol of Technological Quality

Porcelanosa is a leader in the sector due to its ceramic products’ quality and high standing, as well as the advanced technology used in all its factories and logistics centers. For this reason, since 2017, it has relied on Innova’s advanced packaging systems to meet its demands for the highest quality and performance. Currently, all of its packaging lines have been developed and manufactured by Innova.

We highlight one of its most complete packaging installations at Porcelanosa – Logistics Center:

Challenge: Porcelanosa aimed to address the high production levels at its factory. They chose the Stretch Hood system with the combination of Automatic Strappers to ensure maximum support for their products and to enhance the quality of the final packaging presentation.

Solution: Innova installed a complete packaging line with vertical and horizontal strapping and a Stretch Hood system. A conveyor tunnel connects this line to the impressive Logistics Center, where Innova has also installed additional end-of-line solutions, such as a shrink-wrapping system for various types of loads and vertical elevators.

Results: Porcelanosa obtained one of the most modern and efficient end-of-lines, which is still fully operational even after all these years.

3. Argenta Group, Latest Technology in All its Factories in Spain and Mexico

Another major ceramic group utilizing ‘Made by Innova’ technology is the Argenta Group. They operate packaging lines by Innova in all their factories and logistics centers across Spain. Additionally, in their project in Mexico called Ibérica Tiles, they have partnered with the Mexican company Castel to establish furnish packaging lines in their factory.

For today’s selection, we highlight their Argenta Factory 5 packaging line, one of the most advanced manufacturing plants in the tile sector, focused on total automation, industry 4.0, and sustainability. To this end, Argenta trusted Innova to equip the new facility with two complete automated packaging lines connected to its intelligent logistics:

Challenge: Argenta needed an end-of-line solution for the high-volume production and protection of its large-format ceramic products.

Solution: The project consisted of a double packaging station: AGV input system, Horizontal Strapping with Edge Protector Applicator, high-performance Stretch Wrapper, Stretch Hood, and AGV output and connection system.

Results: Argenta conveyed its satisfaction with the results of the new project and reinforced its commitment to sustainability.

4. Grespania, Pioneers in the Automation of XL Loads Packaging

Grespania Group is a leading name in the Spanish ceramic industry that has recently automated its finishing processes with the help of Innova. They have a pioneering role in the sector by implementing advanced protective measures for special formats like XL and picking loads. In 2024, Grespania installed a Stretch Hood line for package picking, and in 2023, they set up an XL packaging line to wrap their ceramic tiles under the Coverlam brand. These processes were previously done manually or semi-automatically, but thanks to Innova’s solutions, Grespania has successfully automated them.

In this selection, we have chosen the Coverlam packaging line in Moncofar because it represents a technological advance in the automation of XL loads packaging:

Challenge: Grespania needed to automate the packaging of ceramic tiles and slabs up to 3,500 mm (138 inches) long.

Solution: Innova designed and manufactured a special Stretch Hood system for XL formats, a technological innovation in the sector.

Results: Grespania eliminated a highly costly manual packaging process in terms of time and staff and optimized all the packaging of this special format.

5. Baldocer, Unification of End of Lines with Special Security

Baldocer is another leading ceramics company that asked us to unify and automate its end-of-line processes with the specific objective of increasing both the security of its loads and of the installation itself. We highlight the projects with this client for their uniqueness, with systems adapted to large formats and special security accesses in their Stretch Hood systems.

Challenge: Baldocer wanted to abandon all manual processes and obtain better packaging quality for a multitude of formats.

Solution: Innova designed three lines with a similar system composition but with different packaging objectives. All of them had a conveyor line adapted to all types of load vehicles such as manual pallet trucks, forklifts, or AGVs, and also a Stretch Hood system with special access for maintenance and personnel safety.

  • Factory 1 – Line 1: Consisting of a Ring Stretch Wrapper with cover applicator and Stretch Hood, installed in 2021
  • Factory 1 – Line 2: Consisting of Horizontal Strapping, Stretch Wrapping, and Stretch Hooding, installed in 2022
  • Factory 2 – Packaging line for large format loads: Automatic ring wrapper with large format cover (with special length) and Stretch Hood also in large format for loads up to 1,650 mm (65 inches) in length, also installed in 2022.

Results: Baldocer achieved better logistics flow, greater safety for its staff, and improved protection for its fragile cargo.

6. Bestile, Complete Automation with Innova in All its Factories

Bestile Group, part of the Pamesa Group, is one of the leading companies in the Castellón Ceramic Hub. Currently, it operates five complete packaging lines with Innova, which are distributed across several production centers in l’Alcora and Onda.

We would like to highlight Bestile’s packaging line at Factory 6, as it involves a project for installation in a new factory.

Challenge: Bestile proposed a project that could serve both the existing remodeled plant and the newly constructed adjoining plant.

Solution: Innova installed two packaging lines consisting of an input conveyor system, an Automatic Ring Wrapper, the Stretch Hood system, and an output conveyor system.

Results: Bestile met its objectives of high production and complete protection of its special formats of ceramic pallets.

7. Vitromex (Mohawk Group), Stretch Hood pioneer in Mexico

Vitromex, a prominent leader in the industry and recently acquired by the magnate Mohawk Industries, has been a pioneer in adopting Stretch Hood technology for ceramics in Mexico since 2015. The company currently operates complete packaging lines with Innova at all its production centers, which include two factories in San José Iturbide and one in San Luis Potosí.

We highlight the third installation in 2018 in one of its highest production logistics hubs in San José Iturbide (Querétaro):

Challenge: Vitromex set out three key objectives: Technological renewal, reduction of consumables and energy costs, and maximum protection and quality of wrapping for its ceramic product.

Solution: A complete line with a special focus on securing to offer stability during the difficult transportation on Mexican roads. The line includes horizontal and vertical strapping, a Stretch Hood, and a connected conveyor line.

Results: Vitromex improved efficiency, quality, and savings in its final packaging.

8. Cesantoni, the Latest Generation Ceramic Packaging Line in Mexico

The Cesantoni Group, based in Zacatecas, is among the leading names in Mexico for ceramic design and quality. They requested us to fully automate their end-of-line process, which had previously been handled manually.

Challenge: Cesantoni needed to completely automate its packaging processes, as well as achieve a professional and uniform finish in all its load formats.

Solution: An automated and connected packaging line consisting of: Horizontal Strapping, Vertical Strapping, Automatic Ring Wrapper, Stretch Hood, and a conveyor line, all connected to the AGV and labeling systems.

Results: Cesantoni consolidates a more efficient operation in line with modern standards in the ceramics industry.

9. Nova Porcelanato, High-Technology Ceramic Packaging in Brazil

The Brazilian ceramic giant Nova Porcelanato (Cedasa and Incopisos groups) is another of our references in Brazil, where we also have a presence with other large ceramic producers.

Nova Porcelanato was looking to modernize and automate its end-of-line, in compliance with the demanding Brazilian safety regulations, as well as to improve the safety of its loads. For this reason, in 2022 it entrusted Innova with a complete packaging line with state-of-the-art securing and protection systems at its factory in Santa Gertrudes (São Paulo).

Challenge: Nova Porcelanato needed to completely automate its final packaging, as well as comply with Brazilian safety regulations such as NR12.

Solution: A packaging line designed to provide total protection with an automatic ring wrapper, horizontal and vertical strapping systems with edge protector applicators, a Stretch Hood system, and a conveyor line adapted to all types of vehicles.

Results: The project met the objectives of modernization and safety, and has also significantly improved the protection of its ceramic products.

10. Eurocerámica – Lamosa Group, total automation in Antioquía, Colombia

We conclude by describing another benchmark for Innova in the Antioquía region, located in the heart of the Colombian jungle. Eurocerámica, part of Grupo Lamosa—one of the leading ceramic companies in Latin America—requested us to fully automate the end of their production process at this factory to meet their increased production demands.

Challenge: Eurocerámica Colombia wanted to move from manual packaging and complex processes to total automation.

Solution: A complete packaging line consisting of Horizontal and Vertical Strapping systems and a Stretch Hood protection system.

Results: Eurocerámica Colombia obtained safer loads for transport and spotless presented for its points of sale.
